2008 PaSRBA Convention

The Pennsylvania State Rabbit Breeder’s Association Annual Convention was held February 2-3, 2008 in Lebanon, PA.  We had record numbers both days!  As always it was a great success!

Congratulations to Ruth Ann and Brian Bell on the birth of their son born February 2, 2008.  Little Levi Bell weighed in at a whopping 9 lbs 9 oz and measured 21 1/4" long!  We wish the Bell family all the best!

Our convention was featured on the cover of Lebanon Daily News Valley Life and included pictures of Alex Stepnoski's Youth BIS English Angora, Daulton Lape with one of his Dwarf Hotot's and ARBA Judge Roger Cota.

Once again we had a record number of entries for Convention 2008!

You may read the new draft of the Constitution and By-Laws

An exciting change for next year will be the opening of the new south hall with 25,000 sq feet of space!  The south hall is more than double the space in the east hall where the youth now exhibit!

Youth

Our youth were very active over the Convention weekend!  Not only did they show their rabbits but some also participated in a variety of our many contests, such as Royalty, Educational, Management and Achievement contests.  Please visit the youth page for all contest winners.  Congratulations to all participants!

We had a very large number of Royalty contestants this year and the competition was tough!

Many thanks to Piper Smith for her hard work and dedication  as 2007 PaSRBA Queen this past year.  We wish you well.

Alex Stepnoski has been crowned our new 2008 Queen and 1st Runner-Up goes to Morgan Turner.

Richard Vaerewyck earned the title of King.  He now has the distinct honor of holding both positions, PaSRBA and ARBA King!   Way to go Richard!

Danette Moore is our new Dutchess

and Duke goes to Devon Turner.

Our 2008 Prince is Tim Werner and Princess, Hailey Wolfe

Lord and Lady are Matthew James Nock and Sydney Turner.

Please read more about our Royalty winners on the youth page.

Youth Banquet and Dance

Much fun was had by all at the Youth Banquet.  We were again served a delicious dinner followed by presentations and the contest results.  Not only did we crown new Royalty but many of our past Kings and Queens were also present.

This was the second year for the youth auction and once again we had many generous donations of beautiful baskets and other items.  All proceeds from the auction benefit the PaSRBA youth.  The Fertility hex sign, purchased by Eric Stewart last year, who then gave it to Brian and Ruth Ann (which reportedly was under the seat of their van for the last year) made its appearance again and was purchased by ?????    Hmmm... Maybe that hex sign really does work!!

Thanks to the efforts of Richard Vaerewyck, the youth had their own dance this year after the Banquet.  It was a huge success.  Many attended and had a fantastic time dancing to the music played by our very own DJ, Dana Lape!  This just may become an annual event!

The picture may not be very clear but here's proof that Richard can dance!!
