Hello everyone! Fall has been sooo exciting! In September, our community has the great Bloomsburg Fair. I do my best to represent PaSRBA at the Fair with my crown and sash where they ask me to in the agriculture area activities. Did you know that the Bloomsburg Fair is the biggest Fair in the state?! But, I was not here for the entire fair this year because we packed up and traveled to Indiana. National Convention in Indianapolis was fun but very busy. I showed some o
Hello everyone! Farm show season and PaSRBA are just around the corner, and it’s time to be thinking about royal contests, breeding, and getting the show string into tip top shape. I hope for the royalty contest we can put more attention to cavies, and have a judging class of longhairs, as well as more of a variety in the Breed ID, as they should be proportionally represented. I have a few surprises that may be showing up in the classes so get ready! In addition, I would like
In July, I was the team captain for our rabbit bowl team at State Achievement Days. We did really well. As a team, we placed 3rd and I was awarded 1st place junior individual. Lori Jo worked with us a lot to help us prepare. There, I participated in Rabbit Showmanship and showing several of my rabbits. I won first pla
Last fall, I volunteered at the E-Town Fair (I'm not sure if that is still considered fall, but I was there every day in the petting zoo, but wore my crown/sash for the Rabbit show and helped with the show). I also wore my crown and sash at the Lebanon Show (in October) and volunteered at the Bethesda Mission Community Day. It was all fun and I am happy I had the opportunity.
We had a great time helping out at the Lebanon Valley Rabbit Breeders show, and the Mid-Atlantic Rabbit and Cavy Show in October. We helped wherever we could! Friday night we helped set up for the show, we helped set up the raffle and awards table for the LVRBA show. We made sure we had everything labeled so that we could easily find the awards that we would need for the show. On Saturday, we helped hand out awards for both the Youth and Open shows. Riley helped out at the an
I have been doing a lot with rabbits over the past two months. I have helped for a demonstration sharing my rabbits with a homeschooling group and a knitting guild. The beginning of June, I attended the State College Show where I participated in and won Showmanship as well as second reserve in show. The following week, I was the weaver for Fiber Day at the Dills (a fiber festival in Dillsburg, PA.) After I warped the loom for the demonstration, I wove a scarf using 100% an
